Today we rode 98 miles from Marysville to Wooster. The route was challenging with a little under 4,500 feet of climbing. Unfortunately more than a third of the climbing was in the last 20 miles.
To make things worse, the sun was out and the temperatures were high. As the day drug on I found myself questioning my ability to finish. But in the end, I persevered and got it done.
The ride itself, is a pretty one with lots of rolling hills, quaint small towns, and picturesque farms dotting the northeast Ohio landscape. All in all it was a hard day but also a rewarding one.
I’m continuing to meet more of the riders although with all the climbing today, casual conversations on the bike were difficult. Nonetheless, I’m finding a really nice group of people to share this adventure.
I only took one picture today, too busy grinding up hill, but I couldn’t resist the sign for a most unusual small town.
Tomorrow, we’ll ride 93 miles to Niles Ohio. They’ll be more climbing, but not as much. And most of tomorrow’s climbing is early in the ride so hopefully it will be behind us before the temperatures rise too much. Thanks for following along.

Glad you decided to blog again. Super proud of you for continuing this journey.

Margaret shared your blog link to those of us who were in Covington, so I’ll be following along on your adventure. Kudos to you for having the determination to get back out there and go for the finish. I’ll look forward to seeing that final picture of your wheel dip in the Atlantic on Revere Beach!
